Translation quality assurance process

Our quality assurance process conforms to the European standard EN18038 pertaining to translation processes.

Step 1 : Translation
Step 2 : Proofreading
Step 3 : Review
Step 4 : Checking
Step 5 : Validation
The translation stage starts by selecting the most suitable resources for the project. A translation team managed by a senior linguist will be appointed for the translation task if required.
After the translation stage ends, the translation is sent to our team of proof-readers. The main role of the proof-reader is to ensure that the translation accurately expresses the meaning of the source text and that there are no omissions.
This stage generally involves spell-checks and a last proofreading before the translation is ready to be approved. For projects translated into more than one language, a sentence-by-sentence check is implemented in all the languages in order to ensure their coherence. When the translation involves a DTP or formatting process, another proofreading is implemented before the document is approved as an accurate translation.
A final check will be carried out by the project manager prior to delivery to ensure that all instructions from the client have been followed, implemented and that the work is ready to be delivered in the proper format.
The validation stage is an integral part of our quality assurance process. A frank and open communication channel is extremely important to understand stylistic preferences of the personnel in charge of validation. We implement and integrate all the comments of the personnel in charge of validation. These comments and recommendations are then entered into the Style guides and are meticulously used as references for future translations. These Style guides are constantly reviewed and updated.
